Teen Gunned Down Tuesday Night

A 16-year-old male has died following a shooting Wednesday night in Wilmington.

According to Wilmington Police, officers are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at approximately 8:33 p.m. in the 1600 block of West 5th Street.

The victim, a 16-year-old male, arrived at an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound and was listed in critical condition. Police said the teen later succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
