Troopers ID Driver Killed In Accident Saturday

A 17-year-old Bear resident was killed Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash on Stanton Christiana Road near Newark, according to the Delaware State Police.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. on July 18, 2026. Investigators said Bryan Flores was driving a Toyota Camry southwest on Stanton Christiana Road as he approached Old Stanton Christiana Road and negotiated a curve.

For reasons that remain under investigation, the Camry lost control, crossed into the path of a northeastbound Toyota Sienna traveling in the center lane, and the passenger side of the Camry collided with the front of the Sienna.

Flores was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the Toyota Sienna, a 46-year-old woman from Middletown, was taken to an area hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Stanton Christiana Road was closed for approximately three hours while members of the Delaware State Police investigated the crash and cleared the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
