Police ID Teen Gunned Down In Dover Restaurant Parking Lot

Dover Police are investigating a homicide after an 18-year-old man was shot multiple times Friday night outside CAVA on North DuPont Highway.

Police received multiple reports of shots fired at approximately 9:47 p.m. September 4 in the parking lot of the restaurant at 1037 North DuPont Highway. Responding officers found 18-year-old Foster Trader of Dover on the sidewalk in front of CAVA suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers immediately began providing emergency medical care while additional emergency personnel responded. Trader was pronounced dead at approximately 10:04 p.m.

Police secured the area as detectives and additional personnel processed the scene and collected evidence. Investigators recovered multiple spent shell casings and are reviewing other available evidence as part of the investigation.

No arrests have been made, and police have not released a description of a suspect or suspect vehicle. The Dover Police Department Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and what may have led to it.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting, observed suspicious activity in the area around the time it occurred, or has surveillance footage or other information that could assist investigators is asked to contact Dover Police.
