Man Trapped In Vehicle After Crash


New Castle – At approximately 12:40 a.m. New Castle County Paramedics, Cranston Heights and Wilmington Manor Fire Companies were dispatched to the intersection of West Basin Road and Washington Avenue for a motor vehicle crash with report of entrapment, according to Public Information Officer Paramedic First Class Yvonne Russell.

Russell said that upon arrival County Paramedics found the patient, a 38-year-old male, confined to his vehicle. The patient was confined for approximately 10 minutes, prior to being extricated by fire department personnel. The patient was treated on scene for neck and arm injuries. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital via Wilmington Manor Fire Company ambulance in stable condition.
