Woman Stabbed In Chest Puncturing Her Lung, Boyfriend Arrested

Rehoboth Beach – On Friday evening, June 23, 2017 at around 11:15 pm, officers were called to the second block of Rehoboth Avenue, in the area of the Purple Parrot, for a group of disorderly people possibly preparing to fight.

When officers arrived the people had left the scene; however, the investigation revealed that prior to their arrival Rozanski was involved in an altercation with his girlfriend, a 30-year-old female from Georgetown, which drew the attention of two other males who confronted him about his behavior, according to police.

Rozanski engaged in a physical altercation with the two males, which ended when he displayed a knife causing them to retreat, according to officials.

Over an hour later, just after midnight on Saturday morning, Rehoboth Police were called to the Beebe Health Campus emergency room where a female victim was reporting that she had been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers determined that the victim was the girlfriend of Rozanski.

Officials said a detective was immediately called into assume the investigation which revealed that after the physical altercation on Rehoboth Avenue, Rozanski drove his vehicle away from the scene with the victim in the passenger seat. A verbal altercation escalated to Rozanski stabbing the victim in the chest with a knife puncturing her lung, according to police.

Rozanski was arrested and charged with 1 count of first degree assault, 1 count of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and 1 count of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, which are all felony crimes. Rozanski was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $52,000.00 secured bail.
