Shooting Investigation – Cedar Street and Maryland Avenue
On July 06, 2017 at approximately 10:39 p.m. Uniform Services Division officer’s responded to the area of the 800 block of Maryland Avenue in reference to a Shot Spotter Notification of gunfire. As officer’s were arriving into the area, they were directed to the 1300 block of Cedar Street where a 30-year-old male victim was located. The victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his right, lower leg. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the St. Francis Hospital in stable condition. A possible suspect in this shooting incident is described as a male subject, unknown race, wearing all dark clothing who fled the area of the shooting on foot.

Double Shooting Investigation – 400 block of W. 7th Street
On June 18, 2017 at approximately 1:41 p.m. Shot Spotter alerted to five shots fired in the 400 block of West 7th St. Officers responded to the area and found two victims suffering from apparent gun shot wounds. The first victim, a black male 45-year-old sustained a gun shot to the ankle area and the groin area. The second victim a black female 31-year-old sustained a graze wound to her ankle. Both victims were treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to Christiana Hospital where both victims are listed in stable condition. Preliminary investigation reveals that unknown suspect(s) approached the victims while they were talking in the block and allegedly fired multiple rounds. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Detective Joran Merced at 576-3637
ARREST MADE
Through continuous investigative measures, Andre Crisden, 28, of Wilmington, was developed as a suspect in the double shooting investigation which occurred on June 18, 2017 in the 400 block of W. 7th Street, according to police.
On July 06, 2017, Crispen was located by officer’s assigned to Operation Disrupt and placed into custody without incident. Crisden was transported to police headquarters where he was ultimately booked on the following charges:
*(2) Counts of Assault in the 1st Degree
*Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
*Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
Crisden was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Facility in lieu of $325,000 cash bail.
15-Year-Old Shot Investigation – 900 Block Of Clifford Brown Walk
On Tuesday July 4, 2017 at approximately 1:27 a.m. Wilmington Police Department patrol units were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of Clifford Brown Walk in reference to a shooting victim.
Upon arrival patrol units located a 15-year-old black male suffering from multiple gun shot wounds to his upper legs. The victim was treated on the scene and transported to the Christiana Hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.
The victim advised officers he was shot while in the 400 block of E. 9th Street. Officers responded to that location and located a shooting scene.
