Newark – Delaware State Police are currently investigating the strong arm robbery of a Newark area pharmacy that occurred yesterday afternoon, according to Director of Public Information Sergeant Richard Bratz.
Bratz said the initial investigation has determined the incident occurred on Monday, September 04, 2017, as a male suspect entered the Rite Aid located at 400 Peoples Plaza, Newark. As the clerk was checking customers out the suspect approached the register to make a purchase.
During the transaction the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the register, according to Bratz. The clerk attempted to pull the suspect away from the register and sustained minor injury. Suspect was last scene fleeing on foot into the parking lot of Peoples Plaza.
The suspect is described as a thin black male, approximately 5’06” tall between 40-50 years old, wearing dark clothing.

Glasgow – Yesterday at approximately 12:25 pm Delaware State Troopers responded to the Rite Aid at People Plaza, 400 Peoples Plaza, for reports of a robbery that had just occurred.
Responding Troopers learned that a black male had reached over the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. After grabbing the cash the man fled the store in an unknown direction of travel, according to reports.
State Police continue to investigate.
