Motorcycle Crash This Morning Sends Rider To Hospital

FileElsmere – This morning, at approximately 6:00 am, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Elsmere and Cranston Heights Fire Companies were dispatched to intersection of South DuPont Road and Taft Avenue for a motorcycle crash, according to Senior Corporal David J. McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found a 21-year-old motorcycle operator down in the roadway. The operator, who was the lone rider on the motorcycle, was separated from his bide and not wearing a helmet during the crash. He was evaluated on scene for injuries to the lower leg and abrasions to the head.

The patient was transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from the Elsmere Fire Company with a New Castle County Paramedic accompanying. The patient was stable at the time of transport.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash
