Route 896 Accident Sends Two To Hospital This Morning

 

Bear – This morning, at approximately 0800, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Christiana Fire Company and Aetna, Hose, Hook & Ladder were dispatched to the intersection of Summit Bridge Road and Mansion House Road, for a motor vehicle accident, according to Senior Corporal David J. McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found a scene with multiple vehicles and multiple patients. A 38-year-old male was treated on scene for a head and hand injury. He was transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from the Christiana Fire Company with a New Castle County Paramedic accompanying. A 66-year-old female was evaluated on scene by County Paramedics for a complaint of back pain. Following assessment, she declined transport to the hospital. Another patient was transported from the scene for a complaint of minor injuries. They too were transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from Aetna, Hose, Hook & Ladder Company. Both patients were stable at the time of transport.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.

Bear – Crews from area fire companies, along with New Castle County Paramedics have responded to the area of Route 896 SB and Mansion House Road for reports of multi-vehicle accident involving injuries.

Reports from the scene indicate that Trooper 4 was alerted but was canceled by medics. At least one person will be transported by ground ambulance.

One patient is being transported to trauma unit due to a head injury.

Traffic is backed up to the Lums Pond area.
