Newark – Newark Police Department is investigating two separate incidents of indecent exposure that occurred on 9/16/17 between 1:00 – 1:25am that are believed to be related, according to Lieutenant Fred Nelson.
Nelson said the first incident occurred in the parking lot at the rear of 123 E. Main Street. The victim, a 21-year-old female University of Delaware student, reported that a naked male committed a lewd act in front of her as she was parking her vehicle. She stated the suspect eventually fled on foot towards E. Main Street.
The victim stated that she saw this subject pacing the parking with clothes on, just prior to seeing him naked, said Nelson. As officers were checking the area for the suspect, a second report of a naked male was received from the rear parking lot of 257 E. Main Street. The two victims, both 19-year-old University of Delaware students, reported that they were walking through the parking lot when they observed a naked male holding his clothing in a bundle approaching them. The victims reported the suspect was last seen walking towards E. Delaware Avenue.
The suspect was described as a white male 50 – 60 years old, 5’10’’ – 5’11’’, average build, short brown or salt and pepper colored hair, wearing navy blue basketball shorts, a gray zip up sweatshirt, and a dark colored baseball hat.
