Wilmington – After several months on the run, Derrick Braxton, 20, of the 700 block of W. 2nd Street, Wilmington, members from the Wilmington Department of Police Task Force and the U.S. Marshals Service apprehended Braxton during a search warrant, executed on January 3, 2018, according to Wilmington Police.
Officials said an arrest warrant was issued for Braxton in reference to a shooting, which occurred in the 600 block of Jefferson Street, on October 17, 2017.
In this incident a 26-year-old male victim sustained a gun shot wound to his left foot as a result of the shooting, according to police.
Braxton, who is a person prohibited from possessing a firearm, has been charged with attempted murder; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony; and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
He was arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $75,000 secured bond.
