Reports: Worker Falls 50 Feet At Construction Site In Newark, Trauma Alert

Newark – At approximately 7:15 this morning Newark Police, along crews from Aetna, Hose Hook and Ladder and New Castle County Paramedics responded to the 400 block of Ogletown Road. Authorities responded as they began to receive reports that a person had fallen from the roof of a new hotel that is being constructed at the location.

As crews were responding they were told that a construction worker had either fallen from the 5th floor of the building or something had fallen on the worker from the 5th floor.

Reports from the scene indicate that arriving medics learned, from workers on site that the patient had fallen 50 feet.  Police officers on scene were observed photographing a sky lift that is extended to the top floor of the building. It’s not clear if the worker fell from the building, the sky lift or another piece of equipment.

The patient was transported by Aetna’s A-9 Ambulance with a New Castle County Paramedic on board. The patient was transported with serious injures to Christiana Hospital, with a trauma alert.
