Easton, Md. – At approximately 12:30 on Sunday afternoon firefighters from the Easton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 200 block of East Earl Avenue for reports of a house fire.
Responding crews reported that a heavy column of smoke was visible while en route. Upon arrival, crews reported heavy fire showing and immediately struck a second alarm.
Sixty-four fire firefighters worked for approximately two hours to bring the two-story, wood frame single family house fire under control.
Fire Marshals estimate the loss at $750,000.
Sadly the homeowner’s dog perished in the fire.
