Robber Steals Man’s Bike, Belongings At Gunpoint In Dover

Dover – The Dover Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred on Friday evening in front of New Hope Housing at 30 S. New Street. according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said the incident occurred when a 42-year old male victim was riding his bicycle from work and stopped to talk to the unknown suspect. The suspect asked for a cigarette and when the victim pulled a pack out of his pants, the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s belongings, according to Hoffman.

The suspect fled with cash, the victim’s backpack, and bicycle. The victim could only identify the suspect as being a light-skinned black male, 6’2″, 230 pounds, afro style hair, burgundy fleece jacket and blue jeans.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous.
