Wilmington – Delaware State Police have arrested one suspect in connection with the robbery of a Wilmington area pharmacy, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.
Jaffe said the incident occurred on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at approximately 8:40 p.m., as a male and a female entered the CVS Pharmacy located at 4020 Concord Pike, and picked up shopping baskets. The suspects loaded the shopping baskets with over $100.00 in merchandise, consisting mainly of deodorants, body washes, and hand lotions, according to Jaffe.
As the suspects proceeded to exit the store, an 18-year-old female employee attempted to stop them. The female suspect assaulted the employee while trying to flee, said Jaffe. The suspects fled from the business without rendering payment for the merchandise, added Jaffe. They were seen leaving the area in a silver Honda Civic. The 18-year-old employee sustained minor injuries.
The male suspect identified as 20-year-old Raquan White of New Castle was arrested on Sunday, May 13, 2018, while working at a Wawa, located at 2748-54 Pulaski Highway, Newark.
He was transported to Troop 1 where he was charged with Robbery 2nd and Conspiracy 2nd. White was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution (Gander Hill) on $4,000.00 secured bond.
