Bethany Beach – Rescue crews from the Bethany Beach Fire Company, along with DNREC marine units have responded to the beach near the 30000 block of Heather Lane for reports of a report of a drowning.
Trooper 2 (Delaware State Police Aviation) is en route. The south bound lanes of Route 1 are being closed to allow the helicopter to land near the scene.
Christiana Hospital’s Trauma Center in Stanton has been notified that the patient will be transported to them via Trooper 2.
Patient reportedly suffered his injuries after diving into the ocean and striking the bottom with his head.
