Formosa Plastics Files WARN Notification Affecting Its Delaware City Facility

Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A  has filed a WARN Notification with the State of Delaware, dated Wednesday, July 25, 2018, affecting their Delaware City location. The notice states that 72 employees, who work at the 780 Schoolhouse Road location, will be affected.

The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) protects workers, their families, and communities by requiring employers with 100 or more employees to provide at least 60 calendar days advance written notice of a plant closing and mass layoff affecting 50 or more employees at a single site of employment.

 

Formosa’s Delaware City site is a leading producer of high quality specialty (dispersion) PVC resins, according to their website. Homopolymer, copolymer, micro-dispersion and blending resins are manufactured with feedstock materials shipped from their Louisiana facility.

In December of 2017 Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A announced that the would expand their facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Later, in May of this year, the company announced that they were expanding the production at it’s Point Comfort, Texas location.

The company is headquartered in Livingston, NJ, has over 2,700 employees.
