Police: Newark Man Charged With Multiple Counts, Held On $80,000 Bond

On Thursday, August 9, 2018, the Newark Police Department responded to the parking lot of the Newark Post Office, located on Ogletown Road, for a report that a male subject was passed out inside a vehicle, according to Sgt Gerald Byrda.

Byrda said officers and paramedics arrived and evaluated the subject who was the lone occupant seated in the driver’s seat of the car. The male was identified as 37-year-old Christopher Lane of Newark. Lane refused medical treatment, however, due to his observed behavior officers continued to investigate, according to Byrda.

During the course of the investigation, officers searched the vehicle. During the search, they located numerous liquids and pills commonly known as steroids, some of which were packaged for delivery through the mail, said Byrda.

Police said that itmes located in the vehicle included:
Nandralone (9 grams)
Masteron (28.5 grams)
Testosterone (110 grams)
Boldenone (24 grams)
Oxandrolone (120 doses)
Methasterone (60 doses)
Stanzolol (300 doses)
Trenbolone (4 grams)
Dianabol (25 doses)
Human Growth Hormone (10 vials)
Needles

Lane was charged with:

Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 4 Quantity (7 counts)
Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity (1 count)
Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 4 Quantity (7 counts)
Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity (1 count)
Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (1 count)
Delivery of a Prescription Drug to Another Person for them to Consume or Possess w/o a Prescription (1 count)
Possession of a Prescription Drug without a Prescription (1 count)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (1 count)

Lane was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court #11 and transported to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $80,000 secured bond.
