County Paramedics To Host Information Sessions for Paramedic Academy Class

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division, of the New Castle County Department of Public Safety, will be hosting information sessions for individuals interested in applying for a career as a paramedic. Information sessions will be held on eight different dates, to include Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, through October 6th. The sessions will be held at the Public Safety Headquarters facility, 3601 North DuPont Highway, New Castle. Dates of the sessions are as follows:

Wednesday, August 15th 7:00 PM
Saturday, August 25th 10:00 AM
Wednesday, August 29h 7:00 PM
Saturday, September 8th 10:00 AM
Wednesday, September 12th 7:00 PM
Saturday, September 22nd 10:00 AM
Wednesday, September 26th 7:00 PM
Saturday, October 6th 10:00 AM

Pre-registration is not required to attend, and individuals may still file an application without attending the information session.

New Castle County is currently accepting applications from individuals interested in entry-level opportunities as paramedics. Selected candidates will be employed as full-time employees by the New Castle County Government and enrolled in a paramedic training program. Selected candidates will be required to sign a (5) year service obligation contract.

“The information sessions are an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in becoming a paramedic to learn about the position and the applicant selection processes,” said Chief Lawrence E. Tan of the New Castle County Paramedics. “Attendees at the information sessions will also be able to ask questions from both the EMS Division recruitment staff, County Office of Human Resources staff and currently practicing paramedics who have been through both the selection process and the paramedic academy training program.”
