Smyrna – At 2:35 this afternoon rescue crews from the Citizens Hose Company of Smyrna, along with Delaware State Police and Trooper 4 responded to Route 1 northbound, just south of Smyrna, for reports of a rollover crash.
Command is reporting that Trooper 4 will be utilized. Both directions of travel will be shut down to allow the helicopter to land and access the patient(s).
3:05 pm Update: One patient is being prepared for transport and will be flown to the Christana Hospital Trauma Center in Stanton.
Route 1 traffic is beginning to back up south of the accident.
