Troopers Update Shots Fired Incident Near Dollar General On Route 40

Bear – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shots fired incident that took place in the Sunset Station Shopping Center parking lot, located in the 1800 block of Pulaski Hwy., just before noon today, accoring to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the preliminary investigation has determined that at approximately 11:32 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2018, two subjects had a verbal altercation outside one of the businesses. After the altercation, one of the subjects, a 33-year-old male, returned to his vehicle which was parked in the lot and proceeded to drive away. As he was pulling away, the other male, who was in possession of a handgun, fired multiple rounds which struck the vehicle, said Austin. The male driver was not struck and did not sustain any injuries as a result of the incident.

The suspect, who was described by the victim as a black male, approximately 16 years of age, 5’9”, 160 lbs, wearing all black clothing, a backpack and in possession of a black handgun, was last seen on foot towards Scotland Drive.

Bear – Just after 11:30 this morning, Delaware State Police responded to the Dollar General, located at 1815 Pulaski Highway, for reports of shots fired.

Officials have not released any details regarding the incident.

No medical crews have been dispatched to the scene and no injuries have been reported.
