Rubin said the business was closed at the time. Arriving officers found a broken front window and numerous bottles of alcohol and cartons of cigarettes pulled from the store shelves. A review of surveillance footage revealed that three suspects arrived in a blue sedan.
One suspect threw a rock through the window and entered the business through the shattered glass, said Rubin. He took alcohol and cigarettes from the shelves, as well as money from the cash register, added Rubin.
He then placed the items in a plastic garbage bag that had been given to him by a second suspect. A third suspect remained near the vehicle outside the business.
Both suspects inside the store removed alcohol, cigarettes and money from the cash register and all three suspects then fled the scene in the vehicle, according to Rubin.
Rubin said that fingerprints lifted from one of the bottles left behind were found to belong to Larry Mills, 44, of Wilmington. Mills was arrested in August of this year and charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, Theft Under $1500, Attempted Theft Under $1500, and Criminal Mischief.
He was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court #2 and was held in the Howard R Young Correctional Institution in default of $10,750 secured bail.

Rubin said the subject who remained outside with the vehicle was identified through investigation as the vehicle’s owner, Randy Smith, 45, also of Wilmington.
On September 27, 2018, a search warrant was executed at Smith’s residence in Wilmington and items linking Smith to the burglary were recovered, according to Rubin.
Smith was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Theft Under $1500. He appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #11 in New Castle and was released on $4,000 unsecured bail.
The identity of the third suspect is unknown at this time. He is described as a light-skinned male wearing a black baseball hat with a white bandana over his face.
