New Castle – Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of a New Castle area gas station that occurred Thursday evening, according to police.
Police said the initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at approximately 6:03 p.m., as a male suspect entered the Speedy Gas, located at 506 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle.
The suspect approached the sales counter where he then confronted a female employee, implying that he was armed with a gun. He then demanded money from the cash register, police said.
The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to him. He then exited the store and fled in an unknown direction. The suspect did not display a weapon and the clerk was not injured.
The suspect was described as a black male. He was 30-40 years of age, 5’03”-5’06” tall, weighed 160-180 lbs., and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white dress shirt, and black and white sneakers. There is no further physical or clothing description available. No video surveillance photos are available to be released at this time.
