The Newark Police are seeking witnesses to a rollover crash on Christina Parkway on Friday, December 14, 2018, at 5:40 evening.
During the crash, a 2010 Subaru Forester was traveling eastbound on Christina Parkway approaching Science Boulevard. For reasons still under investigation, the Forester struck the rear of a 2011 Nissan Versa, which in turn struck the rear of a 2016 Dodge Ram, according to police. The Forester overturned, trapping the driver in the vehicle.
The driver of the Forester was extricated from the vehicle by Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company of Newark. The driver of the Forester and the driver of the Versa were each transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The roadway was closed for about one hour for investigation and clean-up.

Aetna’s Statement:
“At 5:41 hours the Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company along with New Castle County Paramedics were dispatched to the intersection of Christina Parkway and Science Boulevard for an MVC with rollover. Harrington Fire Company, Inc. Engine 50-5 was providing a cover-up and also responded. An off-duty NCC Special Operations member was on scene advising a two vehicle MVC with a rollover and one trapped. Responders arrived to find one vehicle on its side with the driver still in the vehicle and their leg pinned under it. Crews quickly worked to stabilize the vehicle, flap the roof, and then lift with air bags to free the patient. The occupant was transported by ALS and BLS to Christiana Hospital. A second patient was transported by BLS also to Christiana Hospital. The Newark Delaware Police Department is handling the investigation and Deputy Chief Schall had Newark Command.”
