Deputy fire marshals are searching for the person responsible for deliberately starting a fire late last night in a Wilmington, Delaware apartment building, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.
Chionchio said the Mill Creek Fire Company was called to the 4600 block of Patrician Boulevard in the Limestone Terrace Apartment complex shortly after 11:00 pm for a fire inside the occupied apartment building. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
State Fire Marshal deputies responded to the scene to investigate the fire and determined that the fire originated inside the apartment building hallway when someone intentionally ignited newspapers that had been left in the hallway.
Fire damage was estimated at $2,000. Residents were permitted back into their apartments. There were no reported injuries.
