Newark Council Raises City Secretary’s Pay To $91,963

The Newark City Council voted unanimously to raise City Secretary Renee Bensley’s salary to $91,963 on Monday night. The move will add $3,537 to Bensley’s annual salary, an increase of 4%.

The City Secretary is the custodian of the official seal and of all records for the city, including, the Charter, the Code of Ordinances, Contracts, Deeds, Agreements, Ordinances, Resolutions, Escrows and Minutes of Council Meetings.

Bensley’s last raise, a 3% raise, was approved by council in 2017.
