The Dover Police Department arrested Thomas Jenkins, 31, for a residential burglary after a homeowner found him inside their residence, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.
Hoffman said between 6:30 PM on Friday, February 15th and 9:06 AM on Saturday, February 16th, Jenkins forced his way into the home by prying open a door. Once inside, Jenkins consumed food items belonging to the victim. When the victim returned home on Saturday morning, Jenkins fled the home on foot. Responding officers took Jenkins into custody without incident near the Wesley College football field.
Jenkins is facing the following charges:
-Burglary 2nd Degree
-Theft Under $1500.00
-Criminal Mischief Under $1000
He was released on an Own Recognizance (O.R.) bond.
When an O.R. bond is issued a defendant is not required to pay any money but must sign a bond guaranteeing their appearance for future court appearances.
