Newark Police Department Announces Anti-Shoplifting Initiative

December 8, 2016 – The Newark Police Department is conducting an anti-shoplifting initiative to coincide with the holiday season.   The Newark Police Department will have plain clothes officers in stores throughout Newark focused on shoplifting prevention and apprehension.   Since October 1, NPD has made 13 shoplifting arrests.

NPD has posted some suspected shoplifting suspects on their Facebook page. NPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying some of the individuals found on that page.
