Police: Newark Man Arrested For Residential Burglary

On April 26, 2019, Newark Police Detectives arrested Rashaon Lane, 20, of Newark, for his involvement in a residential burglary, according to  Lt Andrew Rubin.

Rubin said on March 23, 2019, a burglary was reported at a residence in the 100 block of Madison Drive, Newark. The victim reported that his residence was entered via a rear door and once inside, the suspect stole property. Through investigation, including physical evidence and witness statements, Lane was developed as a suspect, Rubin said.

Lane was taken into custody at his residence without incident and was transported to Newark Police Headquarters. Lane was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and Theft under $1500. He appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 and was released on $4,000 unsecured bail.
