15-Year-Old Charged In Early September Shooting

A Wilmington Police investigation has resulted in the arrest of a 15-year-old male in connection with a shooting incident.

On September 1, 2019 at approximately 6:03 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Spruce Street. Responding officers located a 22-year-old male victim, who arrived at the hospital and was listed in stable condition.

The case was assigned to Detective Charlie Puit of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Puit identified a 15-year-old male as a suspect. An arrest warrant was secured for the suspect, who was taken into custody with the assistance of the United States Marshals Task Force on September 25.

The juvenile male has been charged with the following offenses:

Attempted Murder (First Degree)
Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited

The juvenile was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $170,000 cash-only bail.
