The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a multi-fatal crash involving a single vehicle that occurred early this morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.
The incident occurred on October 13, 2019, at approximately 1:03 a.m., when a 1998 Mercedes E320 passenger car was traveling southbound on Wesley Church Road, south of Cannon Road (SR 18 near Bridgeville. Due to an excessive rate of speed, the operator lost control of the vehicle and allowed it to cross the northbound lane and exit the east edge of the road, where it struck and severed a utility pole, said Jaffe.
The operator, 23-year-old Austin Moore of Seaford, DE was not properly restrained and pronounced deceased at the scene.
A front-seat passenger, 26-year-old Matthew Tull of Seaford, DE was not properly restrained and pronounced deceased at the scene.
A rear-seat passenger and brother of the front seat passenger, 23-year-old Jacob Tull of Seaford, DE was not properly restrained and ejected during the collision. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Wesley Church Road in the area of Cannon Road still remains closed at this time due to the repair of the utility pole.
The crash continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
