Just In: Road Shut Down Near Milton Due To Serious Crash, Multiple Injuries

Just after 1:00 Friday afternoon, rescue crews from the Milton Fire Department along with crews from the Ellendale Fire Company, Sussex County Medics and Trooper 2 (Delaware State Police Aviation) responded to Gravel Hill Road and Sand Hill Road in Milton for an accident with injuries.

Early reports from the scene indicate that at least one patient was trapped in a vehicle for about 15 minutes.

At this time it sounds like there is a total of three patients. One patient was transported to the Trauma Center in Milford.

We believe that Trooper 2 also transported at least one patient to A.I. duPont Hospital in Wilmington.

Command referenced a tractor-trailer several times during the incident, however, it is not clear if the truck was involved.

Delaware State Police issued the following statement “Traffic Advisory-Rt 30 / Sandhill Rd, Milton is closed due to a crash”

Command also reported that a Verizon communication box was destroyed during the crash. It’s unclear if service was impacted in the area.
