Dover Police Arrest Three After Traffic Stop

Dover Police have charged three men with firearm and drug charges following a traffic stop on Tuesday evening, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman says officers stopped a black Dodge Dart in the area of West Division Street and S. DuPont Highway at approximately 8:22PM for a traffic violation.

When the officers approached the vehicle, they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine, 2.1 grams of marijuana, 9 doses of ecstasy, and $460 in drug proceeds, said Hoffman.

All three occupants were taken into custody without incident.

Girard Gregory (30, driver) was committed to SCI on a $36,200 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia

Mykal Dempster (31, front passenger) was committed to SCI on a $43,100 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Violation of Probation

Charles Jackson (45, rear passenger) was released on a civil violation for Possession of Marijuana.
