Shotlifting Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Wanted Man

Milford – On January 27, 2017 Milford Police arrested Rodney L. Boddy, 44 of Bear, following a report of a shoplifting at Walmart on North DuPont Blvd (US Rt 113), accordeing to Milford Police

Masten said the investigation revealed Boddy was allegedly observed by Asset Protection staff at Walmart removing a GPS, along with over the counter medications, and leaving the store without paying for those items.

Responding officers made contact with Boddy and took him into custody without incident, said Masten. Further investigation determined that Boddy had an active warrant out of the State of Pennsylvania, according to Masten.

Boddy was charged with Shoplifting, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, and Possession of Shoplifters Tools. Mr. Boddy was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bailed was set at $3000.00 secured. He is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on Feb. 3, 2017 for a Preliminary Hearing. Mr. Boddy is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution.
