The Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) has announced 1 additional fatality related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and has provided an update on the number of positive cases and recovered individuals. All data reported through the daily updates are based on data received as of 6 p.m. the previous day.
82 more people were reported recovered bringing the total number of recovered to 2619. Hospitalization numbers dropped by 10. 118 more positive cases and a total of 25,363 negative cases were reported.
The Delaware Department of Labor (DOL) is currently providing benefits for approximately 84,000 workers that left jobless when Governor Carney imposed the State of Emergency. The governor’s actions came in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Today, May 11, 2019, the DOL will begin accepting claims from business owners and gig workers. It is to early to know how many will take advantage of the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), a program that was signed into law in late March. In 2016 Delaware was home to 77,306.
