South Carolina Guardsman Who Died In Afghanistan Arrives In Dover

Pentagon officials announced last week that a South Carolina National Guardsman died in a noncombat incident in Afghanistan on Tuesday.

Officials said that First Lt. Trevarius Ravon Bowman, 25, of Spartanburg, died at Bagram Airfield on Tuesday, however, the cause of death was not released.

Bowman’s is the fourth U.S. service member to die in Afghanistan this year of non-combat injuries.  Officials said his death is under investigation.

Bowman was assigned to Company B, 198th Signal Battalion, 261st Signal Brigade, Newberry, South Carolina. The unit is attached to the 228th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade, South Carolina National Guard.

On Thursday, May 23, 2020, Lt. Bowman’s remains arrived at Dover Air Force Base.
