After twenty-three years Aunt Margaret’s Antique Mall in Newark calls it quits.
The small antique mall located in the old Newark Police station has fallen victim to Main Street construction and the governor’s shut down order, according to a post on Facebook.
For about twenty three years, our church building has housed an antique store. It has had four owners over the years. For the last ten, Margaret has owned the shop. So many people have passed through our doors. Many dealers have come and gone, but some have been here for nearly the entire time. We have hunted and scoured to find treasures for you.
We enjoyed knowing that these treasures were going to homes where they were appreciated. We have made so many wonderful friends through the years. Main Street construction was a terrible challenge for our business. People avoided the area.
It’s ironic that as it is finally finished, so are we. The pandemic forced the closing of our store, but now it will be forever. Margaret has decided to not renew her lease and to close permanently. I will keep updating you when I learn of where dealers are relocating. We will miss you greatly.
With sadness & gratitude,
