Early Morning Crash In Townsend Sends One To Trauma Center By Air

At approximately 8:30 Sunday morning, New Castle County Paramedics and surrounding fire companies were dispatched to the intersection of Grears Corner Road and Caldwell Corner Road for a motor vehicle crash, according to Paramedic Corporal Yvonne Russell.

Russell said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found the patient, an approximately 30-year-old-male, confined to his vehicle. Fire personnel extricated the patient from the vehicleafter about ten minutes. The male patient suffered injuries to his head and chest. He was transported to Christiana Hospital via Delaware State Police helicopter in the care of Delaware State Police paramedics,  in serious condition.
