Rehoboth Beach’s Polkamotion By The Ocean Cancelled Due To Covid-19

Polkamotion by the Ocean event organizers have announced that this year’s event has been canceled.

In a message on their website, the event promotors announced the news.

Dear Polkamotion Fans:

We’ve been in constant contact with the folks who manage the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center concerning the feasibility of conducting Polkamotion this September. Due to COVID-19 precautions, the center is still closed and a decision to try to reopen won’t be made until mid-August. Even if they are able to reopen, they are extremely pessimistic about their ability to manage the mandated restrictions governing indoor gatherings. Given these obstacles, all parties agree that the prudent thing to do is to cancel this year’s polka festival in Rehoboth Beach. Since a significant portion of our polka fan base is the most vulnerable to the current virus, we believe this decision is the safest option as well. Please mark your calendars for September 15 – 18, 2021 when Polkamotion by the Ocean returns to Rehoboth Beach.

Stay well and God bless!
