County Officer Arrested By State Police Wednesday

The Delaware State Police has charged and arrested a New Castle County Police Officer, according to a statement released today.

“(New Castle-19720) Today (Oct 7), the New Castle County Division of Police was notified of an off-duty incident involving an eight-year veteran of the department.

Due to the location of the incident, a criminal investigation was conducted by The Delaware State Police and the officer has been charged with Unlawful Sexual Contact 3rd degree (misdemeanor).

Per policy, the officer has been placed on administrative leave with pay as the investigation is conducted. Any further inquiries should be referred to the Delaware State Police.”

We are awaiting a statement from the Delaware State Police.
