A Lincoln man has been sentenced for the 2018 murder of a 20-year-old.
Ahmir Bailey, 22, was convicted in October 2019 of five felonies, including First Degree Murder, and two misdemeanors after an investigation linked him and a codefendant to the shooting death of Jameir Vann-Robinson of Smyrna.
In May 2018, Bailey and a co-defendant, Eugene Riley of Milford, got into an argument with Vann-Robinson as he and a friend left a house party on Mitscher Road in Dover. During the argument, Bailey and Riley fired several shots, one of which fatally struck Vann-Robinson in the back, according to prosecutors. The bullets used in the attack had been stolen from a sporting goods store a few days earlier.
Bailey was convicted of First Degree Murder, Attempted Murder First Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, and Possession of Firearm Ammunition by a Person Prohibited and was sentenced to life in prison plus 18 years. He was also given probationary sentences for misdemeanor offenses of Conspiracy Third Degree and Shoplifting. Riley had previously been sentenced to 15 years in prison following a conviction for Second Degree Murder.
Riley pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in December 2019 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison, followed by work release and probation.

Dover Police have charged two men in the shooting death of Vann-Robinson said Hoffman Both Eugene Riley (18, Milford) and Ahmir Bailey (19, Lincoln) were taken into custody by Dover Police detectives without incident during a traffic stop on Monday, May 14th.
During the investigation, it was learned that the victim and a friend were exiting a home in the Unit Block of Mitscher Road following a house party. While walking back to their vehicle, the victim was involved in a verbal argument with the suspects. During that time the suspects fired several shots, one of which struck the victim in the back, said Hoffman. It was learned that the suspects were in a silver Chevrolet Cobalt prior to the shooting, which both suspects were in when taken into custody on May 14th.
Detectives also learned that the suspects had been in Dick’s Sporting Goods on May 11th, looking at ammunition. After reviewing surveillance footage, it was determined that the suspects had shoplifted several boxes of handgun ammunition from the store, according to Hoffman. Once Bailey and Riley were taken into custody, detectives conducted a search warrant at a residence on Cubbage Pond Road in Lincoln, Delaware. During the search, detectives found a loaded .40 caliber handgun, a box of 9mm ammunition, and a loaded 9mm magazine. It was later discovered that the handgun was reported stolen in a burglary that occurred on May 10th, 2018 currently being investigated by the Delaware State Police, said Hoffman.
Both Bailey and Riley were charged with the following offenses:
-Murder 1st Degree
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Reckless Endangering 1st Degree
-Conspiracy 1st Degree
-Possession of a Stolen Firearm
-Shoplifting Under $1500
-Conspiracy 3rd Degree
Both suspects were committed to JTVCC in default of $530,500 cash bond.
