Shootings Leave Several Wounded Monday, Death Toll Unclear

Wilmington Police were dispatched to three separate shootings late Monday.

At approximately 7:06 police were called to the 600 block of North Monroe Street where they located a 32-year-old male gunshot victim. He was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police also located a 33-year-old male gunshot victim who arrived at the hospital in stable condition.

At around 8:30 rescue crews responded to the 1100 block of West 2nd Street for reports that four people were shot. That incident turned into a barricaded subject incident. At around 10:00 tactical officers entered the home and brought the incident to a close. Police have not released information on injuries or arrests. It’s believed that at least one child was transported to the hospital.

While police and rescue crews were dealing with the barricaded subject incident another shooting occurred at 24th and Jessup Streets at around 10:00. That victim was listed in critical condition at the time of transport.
