Newark Police are investigating an attempted robbery that they say occurred on Saturday, according to Lt Andrew Rubin.
Rubin said on September 25, 2021, at about 12:54 in the afternoon, a bicycle was stolen from the area of the 7-11 store in the 200-block of East Delaware Avenue.

A short time later, a Newark Police Officer on patrol observed the suspect on South Main Street at the Park ‘N Shop shopping center. The officer contacted the male suspect and took him into custody without incident. He was identified as the suspect in both the bicycle theft and the robbery attempt, said Rubin.
