Fourteen Transported To Hospital After School Bus Crash In Milford, Woman Cited

Just before 7:30, Thursday morning rescue crews were dispatched to the intersection of South Rehoboth Boulevard and Southeast Front Street (SR 36) to a report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries involving a school bus.

Milford Police said the school bus was westbound on State Route 36 when an eastbound vehicle, operated by a 32-year-old Lincoln woman, made a left turn in front of the bus causing the collision.

The collision caused the vehicle operated by Lincoln woman to strike a third vehicle that was at the intersection. Thirteen students and an occupant of the third vehicle involved were transported to three area hospitals (Beebe, Bayhealth Kent Campus, and Bayhealth Sussex Campus) to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The Lincoln woman was issued a summons for Inattentive Driving. Multiple area fire companies led by the Carlisle Fire Company assisted with this investigation.

The bus was which was transporting elementary students for the Milford School District.
