The New Castle County Paramedics were pleased to recognize the 21 paramedics who achieved Delaware’s Paramedic License training during 2019 and 2020. The Graduation and appointment ceremony was held at the University of Delaware’s STAR Campus on Wednesday.
Eleven of the graduates were members of the New Castle County Paramedic 3rd Academy and not only achieved their national paramedic registration, but also their Delaware paramedic license in 2020.
These newly badged paramedics achieved both certifications during a time of uncertainty and a time that had never been traversed before. Their training came to an abrupt halt as a global pandemic took hold of the country and they were forced to navigate obstacles no class had ever been faced with before. However, despite all these challenges, these 11 were ultimately successful.
Another 10 individuals who came to the New Castle County Paramedic as nationally registered paramedics, successfully achieved their Delaware certification during the 2019 and 2020 time periods. They were placed in a rigorous field training process and upon meeting the standards placed before them they received the certification.
