Rehoboth Beach House Fire Causes $100,000 In Damage Saturday

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office has determined that this morning’s fire that heavily damaged a Rehoboth Beach, Delaware house was accidental, according to  Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.

Chionchio said the blaze, reported around 8:00 am, occurred in the unit block of Dove Knoll Drive in the Dove Knoll development. The Lewes Fire Department responded to the fire along with neighboring mutual aid fire companies.

State fire investigators were called to the scene to determine the origin and cause of this fire. The fire originated inside the attic area of the attached garage and was caused by an electrical malfunction.

Heavy damage was estimated at $100,000. There were no reported injuries.
