Exxon Near Christiana Hospital Robbed At Gun-Point Thursday

Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Newark area gas station that occurred last night, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Jason Hatchell.

Hatchell said the incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the Exxon gas station, located at 4600 Ogletown Stanton Road, Newark, when troopers responded to an armed robbery. Police said a male suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and approached a male employee behind the sales counter.

The suspect demanded money from the cash register and the employee complied. The suspect then fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, westbound towards the Harbor Club Apartments. The employee was not injured.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male approximately 5’8-”5’10” tall, wearing all dark clothing and a mask.
