The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating last night’s in Dewey Beach fire that heavily damaged a residential building according to Michael Chionchio Assistant State Fire Marshal.
Chionchio said the blaze, report shortly before 8:00 pm, occurred in the 1700 block of Bayard Avenue. The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company along with neighboring mutual aid fire companies battled the fire.
State fire marshal deputies are conducting the investigation into the fire’s origin and cause. The building is a three-story, multi-family, residential occupancy. Fire damage was estimated at $75,000. This fire remains under investigation.
