Woman Found Trapped Under Vehicle In Newark Sunday

At approximately 8:00 Sunday evening, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS) and Aetna Hose Hook & Ladder Company of Newark were dispatched to the intersection of Elderfield Drive and Ilse Drive for reports of a motor vehicle collision with a subject trapped under a vehicle, according to NCCEMS Assistant PIO Emily Mallon.

Mallon said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found a 69-year-old female with her leg trapped under the front wheel of the vehicle. The patient had to be extricated by fire department personnel.

She was treated for injuries to her lower extremities and transported to Christiana Hospital via Aetna Hose Hook & Ladder Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics, in stable condition.
