The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating this morning’s fire in Dewey Beach that heavily damaged three homes, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.
Chionchio said the blaze, reported shortly after 3:00 am, occurred in the 1900 block of Bayard Avenue. The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company arrived on the scene with a house engulfed in flames. The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company was assisted by nearby mutual aid fire companies.
Deputy state fire marshals are currently on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause.
